AMENDMENT OF CERTIFICATION
OF REPRESENTATIVE
On October 10, 1995, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Council 71, AFL-CIO, filed a Petition for Amendment of Certification with the Public Employment Relations Commission, pursuant to N.J.A.C . 19:11-1.6. AFSCME seeks to have a Certification of Representative issued by the Commission on July 15, 1994, amended to reflect that the Barnegat Township Management Association is affiliated with AFSCME Council 71. The
Association is the certified majority representative of all department heads employed by Barnegat Township.
The Association has demonstrated that its members, upon proper notification and by secret ballot, voted on December 15, 1995, to affiliate with AFSCME Council 71. The Association has also demonstrated that there has been a continuity of union officers since the affiliation and that the scope of the negotiations unit is unchanged. The Township does not object to the proposed amendment of the certification; it takes no position as to the proposed amendment of certification.
Therefore, in accordance with the Commission's Rules, the Certification of Representative is amended to reflect that the exclusive negotiations representative is now the Barnegat Township Management Association, affiliated with AFSCME Council 71, AFL-CIO.
