AMENDMENT OF CERTIFICATION
OF REPRESENTATIVE
On March 11, 1997, IBT Local 701, filed a Petition for Amendment of Certification with the Public Employment Relations Commission, pursuant to N.J.A.C . 19:11-1.6. Local 701 seeks to have a Certification of Representative issued by the Commission on April 29, 1996, amended to reflect that Local 1161 IUSTPW, is affiliated with IBT Local 701. Local 1161 is the certified majority representative of all public works employees of the Township of Southampton.
Local 1161 has demonstrated that its members, upon proper notification and by secret ballot, voted on February 13, 1997, to affiliate with IBT Local 701. Local 1161 has also demonstrated that there has been a continuity of union officers since the affiliation and that the scope of the negotiations unit is unchanged. The Township does not object to the proposed amendment of the certification.
Therefore, in accordance with the Commission's Rules, the Certification of Representative is amended to reflect that the exclusive negotiations representative is now Local 1161 IUSTPW, affiliated with IBT Local 701.
