ARBITRATOR; PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT AND LAW, FRANKLIN P. PERDUE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, SALISBURY UNIVERSITY

GRIEVANCE ARBITRATION EXPERIENCE:
Neutral arbitrator, mediator and fact finder following four decades of equally balanced advocate experience with two decades as management and two decades as employee counsel. This include New Jersey public sector law in a boutique public sector firm, in-house experience in labor relations at Johnson & Johnson, and neutral experience as a Field Examiner at the NLRB, Region 22, Newark, New Jersey. I sit on numerous state arbitration panels and on the AAA labor and employment law panels and the FMCS panel. I am a professor teaching union-management relations, employment law and negotiation. I have case experience in discipline and discharge, drug testing, contract interpretation, K-12 planning time and promotion issues; federal promotion issues; pay and wage differentials, police discipline and discharge, and protective service officer discharge. I represented plaintiffs in complex employment law litigation and have extensive experience with complex discovery disputes, electronic discovery, use of expert witnesses, individual and class actions in race discrimination, FLSA class (opt-in) litigation, WARN, disability, discrimination and harassment, FMLA and whistleblower (SOX) issues. My experience also includes the following public and private sector industries: pharmaceutical, airline, entertainment, intellectual property, public safety, private security services, federal agency, trades, and construction, athletics, manufacturing, education and faculty, among others. As an NLRB Agent in NJ, I have labor relations experience across a range of private sector industries. I am available for in-person or remote hearings.

MEDIATION AND FACT-FINDING EXPERIENCE:
See above. I have over three decades as advocate in mediation. I also was a mediator for a large state EEOC deferral program.
I regularly lecture on Advanced Mediator Techniques and Training at the National EEOC Mediator training conference.
My university research establishes me as a nationally recognized mediation scholar on the use of virtual mediation.
