GRIEVANCE ARBITRATION EXPERIENCE:
Experience with cases involving discipline and discharge, absenteeism, job classification, vacation eligibility, job assignments, health insurance eligibility and many others.
MEDIATION AND FACT-FINDING EXPERIENCE:
Commissioner (mediator), Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, 1974-2003. Responsible for mediation of labor disputes in eastern New York, western Massachusetts and Vermont. Mediated over 1000 disputes in all sectors of economy, including manufacturing (chemical, leather, paper, textile, toy), service (retail, trucking, health care, hotel) and public sector (federal, state, municipal, police, fire, education and universities). Mediated numerous grievances involving both contract language and discipline. Fact finder for numerous cases in Vermont and New York including state employees, teachers and municipal workers. Also successfully mediate most of these fact finding assignments.
