GRIEVANCE ARBITRATION EXPERIENCE:
Full-time arbitrator, mediator and factfinder since 2022, after more than two decades of both management and union advocacy. In addition to this panel, also serve on the AAA Labor Panel, NYS 3020-a panel, The Labor Arbitration Connection, Inc. (New England area), and several individual Collective Bargaining Agreement panels. Also, completed the FMCS ‘Becoming a Labor Arbitrator’ training, apprenticed with several arbitrators, and member of both the NYC and New England ‘Salons’ (the National Academy of Arbitrators’ new arbitrator program).

MEDIATION AND FACT-FINDING EXPERIENCE:
I have extensive experience as an advocate in mediation and fact-finding for both union and management in a number of settings including police, fire, corrections, education, higher education, school related professionals, clerical, maintenance.

INTEREST ARBITRATION EXPERIENCE:
I have experience as a management advocate in public safety interest arbitration. I also apprenticed with an arbitrator in New York in these types of proceedings.

OTHER RELEVANT OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:
Balanced labor relations background, which began as a management labor and employment attorney. That advocacy took place primarily on the public side serving municipalities throughout NYS but served private sector clients as well.

I then joined the largest NY statewide union, serving as labor relations specialist, regional staff director, and finally as director of that union’s benefit fund, the latter two responsibilities requiring oversight of unionized staff. As director, managed a corporation and two ERISA trusts, including a supplemental health insurance plan, and the investment portfolios of the three entities.

In sum, I have been a union member; managed in a unionized workforce; advocated, negotiated and arbitrated for both unions and management; and have experience navigating a variety of health insurance issues as well as ERISA matters.

CANCELLATION NOTICE AND FEE (if any): One day per diem for each cancelled day or postponement within 14 calendar days of hearing date. Per diem for each hearing day, all time spent in study and preparation of Opinion and Award and time spent on travel, with appropriate and reasonable expenses billed for travel. All travel charges originate from NJ/NY border.
